Our borders are not secure.  Our health care, education and justice systems are under heavy burdens.  Employers can’t find enough workers to fill the essential jobs Americans just won’t do.  Our current immigration system has resulted in over 12 million undocumented immigrants in our country.  And that number increases everyday.  Our nation, our security and our economy can’t continue like this.

America’s immigration crisis has gone on for far too long.  Its disruptions and distortions are too serious to allow extreme special interests to continue blocking meaningful solutions.  Those fed up with the demagogues and federal inaction are coming together across the nation to support a solution that can achieve four main goals:

Enhanced Border Security
Guest Worker Program
Employment Eligibility Verification
Resolution of the Legal Status of the

12 Million Undocumented Immigrants

Nevada Employers for Immigration Reform (NVEIR) is a coalition of Nevada businesses and trade associations dedicated to advocating for sensible reform of our immigration systems through political action.  We are small businesses, manufacturers, developers, contractors, service providers and gaming establishments.  We are the backbone of the Nevada economy and we demand that Congress accept its responsibility for regulating our borders and immigration system.  Both the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives are considering promising reform proposals like the STRIVE Act of 2007.  Our congressman need to hear from employers in Nevada that comprehensive immigration reform must happen this year.
1 NVEIR is being formed as an 501(c)(4) organization following the example of Texas Employers for Immigration Reform, see their website at www.txeir.org. You may view the NVEIR website at www.NVEIR.org. Our website will include links to research organizations, policy think tanks, news, and reports concerning labor resource and immigration issues.
